Portia Phillips

Portia Phillips is a dedicated artist and that has always been passionately interested in color. She breaks colors down into fragments of shapes and presents them with colors that work in a highly decorative composition.

“This is my version of modern art deco. This particular body of work is intricate and sometimes complicated, with some pieces being soft and layered with garden-like colors, and others dark and masculine with harder shapes. The decorative arts have always been something I have gravitated towards.”

Phillips spent several wonderful years at SCAD exploring her passion for fine art. She also comes from a long line of artists on both sides of her family: “I have always known that I wanted to be a visual artist, and my mother and I have shared a studio for years.” Portia Phillips is based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
